Workshop: “Afrotopia(s) – emerging futures in arts, politics and religion” | 14–18 FebruaryOur Senior Researcher Magnus Echtler is organizing a workshop on “Afrotopia(s) – emerging futures in arts, politics and religion” that engages questions like: What is African about Afrotopia? How do multiple and variable lived utopias relate to hegemonic utopian fictions, be they African or Western? How do we as academics deal with the ambiguous, actor dependent distinction between utopia and dystopia, and hence with our own moral commitment to a better future? Magnus will contribute to the workshop with his presentation on “Afrotopian Christianity”. If you are interested in participating online, please contact Magnus or send an e-mail to Marko Scholze from Point Sud. Date: 14–18 February 2023
