Call for Applications: Student Assistant

We are looking for a student assistant to join the KFG "Multiple Secularities" as soon as possible for 10h/week.

Tasks: 

  • Support of Monika Wohlrab-Sahr's research project on Secularity as a contested issue in the field of research on Islam: literature search, transcription of interviews, general research support
  • Support of administration and research of the KFG in general

Requirements:

  • Advanced training in Islamic / Middle Eastern / Arabic Studies, Social Sciences, the Study of Religion or similar fields, ideally holding a BA-degree
  • Interest in the research of the KFG "Multiple Secularities"
  • Ability to work independently
  • Fluent English, written and spoken, good knowledge of Arabic and/or Farsi is desired but not mandatory

Applicants should send their application (English cover letter, CV, relevant certificates) in one pdf-file of max. 5MB to multiple-secularities@uni-leipzig.de by 30 June 2018.

Paper on Transnational Space-Making of Taiwanese Religious Organizations

Philip Clart, Nikolas Broy and Jens Reinke have recently published a paper on Migrating Buddhas and Global Confucianism: The Transnational Space-Making of Taiwanese Religious Organizations in the Working Paper Series of our neighbours from the  Collaborative Research Centre (SFB) 1199: “Processes of Spatialization under the Global Condition”.

CfP: Religious Contacts in Early Modern Scandinavia

The Käte Hamburger Kolleg Dynamics in the History of Religions between Asia and Europe invites papers to be presented at the international workshop Religious Contacts in Early Modern Scandinavia 1500-1750 to be held on 10-11 October 2018 in Bochum, Germany. The Kolleg welcomes short applications including an abstract on the intended paper to be presented (max 1,500 words) and a short notice about the academic affiliation of the applicant. Applications should be submitted electronically in one single pdf-file to ulf.plessentin@rub.de no later than June 15, 2018.
