Dear friends and colleagues, This week we want to inform you that in the next weeks it will be a bit quieter in our KFG: from next week on we will officially have a Quiet August. Our Researchers and Fellows have also been very productive and we would like to point you to some recent publications. There will also be a workshop soon, which will certainly be interesting for many. And we found a great film in the open air cinema. Enjoy and have a nice rest of the week! |

Quiet AugustMany of us will be on holiday in August. Therefore we will have a short summer break with our official events in August and have a quiet August. So there will be no colloquia for the next four weeks. But also all those who will stay in Leipzig can quickly get into the holiday feeling in the evenings and weekends: Around Leipzig there are a lot of beautiful lakes, for example the Cospuden Lake – or as the locals call it: Cossi – or the Kulkwitzer Lake – also known as Kulki. Both are easily and comfortably accessible by bike. And if you feel like another bike tour and fresh snacks, you can check out the Mundraub website and plan a tour to freely accessible fruit trees and fruit bushes. |

Movie Screening: Geschichten aus Teheran – Ghesse-haRakhshan Bani-Etemad, one of the most important Iranian filmmakers, takes us with her film "Tales from Tehran - Ghesse-ha" (2014) to a Tehran that is brimming with poverty, love, despair, philosophy, political activism, bureaucracy and hope. She interweaves the stories of people with the most diverse social positions, of married couples, artists, students and workers, into a multi-layered narrative about modern Iranian society. The film is shown in the open-air film series "2cl Sommerkino" of Conne Island. Screening: 1 August, 9:30 p.m. (Farsi with German subtitles) Venue: Conne Island
