Dear friends and colleagues, In the coming weeks, things will be a little quieter at our KFG as we will have a Quiet August—like we do every year. Many of us will be on vacation and therefore we will have a short summer break with our official events. So there will be no colloquia for the next four weeks. And then from September we resume the usual business. But regardless of that, we would like to point you to two new publications from our Fellows this week. We also found a little summer open air for you. Enjoy and have a nice rest of the week! Lucy |

Quiet August in LeipzigSo it's a little quieter here in the office, but of course summer is in full bloom in Leipzig too and all of us who stay in Leipzig can quickly get into the holiday feeling in the evenings and weekends: Around Leipzig there are a lot of beautiful lakes, for example the Cospuden Lake – or as the locals call it: Cossi – or the Kulkwitzer Lake – also known as Kulki. Both are easily and comfortably accessible by bike. And if you feel like another bike tour and fresh snacks, you can check out the Mundraub website and plan a tour to freely accessible fruit trees and fruit bushes. |

Open Air Concert: Summertime - Music In The Garden"Summertime - Music in the Garden" is an open air concert series over the summer months in the beautiful ambiance of the Botanical Garden of Leipzig University. The Concerts take place only in good weather, because everything takes place outdoors. There are only a limited number of chairs, which will of course be spaced out. Chairs of your own are welcome, as are strolling listeners who want to listen at a distance. This Sunday, the Leipzig duo CYMAT will perform with vocals, guitar, handpan, cajon & djembé. Date: 1 August | 3 p.m. Admission is not charged for the concerts, but we do ask for donations for the musicians and the Friends of the Botanical Garden.
