CfA: Research Associate in the "Ignaz Goldziher Program for Jewish-Muslim Studies"The Leibniz Institute for Jewish History and Culture – Simon Dubnow is seeking to fill the position of Research Associate “Ignaz Goldziher Program for Jewish-Muslim Studies” (full-time position, 13 TV-L) at the earliest possible date. The »Ignaz Goldziher Program for Jewish-Muslim Studies« offers scholars from Islamic contexts an opportunity to spend twelve months at the institute to work on or complete a research project on the mutual experiences of Jews and Muslims in modernity and related questions of reform, confessionalization, secularization, and pluralism, or to develop a new project in this field and, with the help of the institute, to develop it to a level suitable for funding applications. The position will be limited to a period of 1 year. Application deadline: 4 December 2023

CfP: Special Issue on “Digital religion meets politics: pushing boundaries and opening-up new perspectives”, in Frontiers in Political ScienceWe would like to point you to a CfP of Frontiers in Political Science on “Digital religion meets politics: pushing boundaries and opening-up new perspectives”: New digital technologies change all kind of societal spheres, including the landscape of religion and religious practices. While the young field of digital religion studies profits from interdisciplinary collaborations and perspectives, the political dimension of this transformation process is still underdeveloped. This Research Topic aims to contribute filling the existing gap and to offer first-hand empirical, theoretical as well as conceptual knowledge about the intersection between religion, digitalization, and politics. Possible topics include, but are not limited to, digitalization of religious practices of political actors, digital hate speech by or about religious groups in the political sphere (e.g. Islamic hate speech) or new forms of religious engagement via social networks by majority churches and their members. Manuscript Summary Submission Deadline: 01 December 2023
