Dear friends and colleagues, There's not much going on in the office at the moment (it is “Quiet August” after all), but there are news nevertheless: We have welcomed a new member to the coordination team this week. We would also like to draw your attention to some recent publications by our Fellows and an upcoming event. And for those of you who are in Leipzig at the moment, we have found a great evening activity for tonight. Enjoy! |

Movie Screening: DOK Leipzig SommerkinoDOK Leipzig is one of the leading festivals for documentary and animated film and takes place every autumn in Leipzig. For this summer the festival cooperates with the LVZ Kultur Sommer 2020 and shows selected films from last year's festival open air at the DOK Leipzig Sommerkino. Tonight the documentary "The Royal Train" (2019) by Johannes Holzhausen will be screened. The film portrays the Romanian Princess Margareta of Romania and her entourage on their journeys through the country via the Royal Train. In this way she wants to give her dynasty more visibility in the Romanian present. On its routes "The Royal Train" makes the dividing lines of European history visible in modern times and tells about them in an enlightening and entertaining way. Tonight at 8 p.m., Open Air Parkbühne Leipzig
