Our Associate Member Silke Steets co-edited a recently published volume on Religious Pluralism and the City. Inquiries into Postsecular Urbanism. The volume includes an article by our former Senior Researcher Marian Burchardt et al. on Religious Superdiversity and Urban Visbility in Barcelona and Turin.

Markus Dreßler's article The Social Construction of Reality (1966) Revisited: Epistemology and Theorizing in the Study of Religion has been published in Method & Theory in the Study of Religion (2018). The paper takes the social constructivist approach, formulated by Peter Berger and Thomas Luckmann, as a starting point for an investigation into epistemology and theorizing in the contemporary study of religion.

Save the Date

On 26 April 2018, 8 p.m., Armin Nassehi will give a public lecture titled Zwischen Engagement und Distanzierung. Die Soziologie als öffentliche Sprecherposition (Between Involvement and Distancing. Sociology as Public Speaker). He will trace the development of (German) Sociology in this area of tension since the 1970s. The lecture will be held in German at Bibliotheca Albertina, Vortragssaal.
