Wednesday Weekly 27 March 2024

Dear friends and colleagues,

We began our KFG farewell tour with the final conference last fall. Today we have reached another bittersweet milestone with our last regular colloquium, and in a few hours we will have our final Eranos dinner. We would like to thank you all for  being part of our journey over the last eight years. Our regular funding period ends this month, but we have been able to secure some funds to continue our work. We plan to hold our colloquium on a monthly basis from now on and look forward to publishing the many great working papers we have received from you, and to the forthcoming publication of the first volumes of our Global Secularity Sourcebook this year. We might not be able to keep up the previous frequency, but we will keep you informed of our activites on a regular basis.

Thank you and farewell!

As our regular funding comes to an end, we have to say goodbye to some dear colleagues who have contributed significantly to the great success of our KFG.

Lucy has been with us since 2019, she started as a student assistant and took on the role of the administrative coordinator in 2020 - managing our finances, fellowships, events and delighting you with this newsletter every week.

Foteine has been supporting us in various roles since 2017, most recently coordinating the work on our Sourcebook, which would probably never be published without her tireless efforts.

Magnus has joined us as a Post-Doctoral Senior Researcher for the second funding period in 2020. He has contributed greatly to our systematic focus on materiality, bringing his regional expertise on Africa and beyond, connecting us with many great colleagues in his field, and supporting the KFG in many other ways.

We would also like to thank our student assistants, Nelly and Lara, who took care of all the little cogs without which a research group like ours could not function.

Last but not least, we would like to say goodbye to Ninja Bumann and Anuj Bhuwania, who were the last regular fellows of the KFG "Multiple Secularities" and who each brought yet another perspective from their respective fields of expertise to our group.
