Important Dates

September is a busy month at the KFG with a lot of extraordinary dates, therefore we will have no Eranos or Colloquium until 11 October.


Quick overview:

26-28 September: "Emergent Spheres of the Secular in Colonial Asia"

Deadline: Emergent Spheres of the Secular

Please do not forget to register with Johannes Duschka until 15 September if you plan to attend Martin Ramstedt's workshop on "Emergent Spheres of Secular in Colonial Asia". This applies for all parts of the Workshop including the reception on Wednesday.

CfP: Worldviews in World View: Particularizing Secularism, Secularity and Nonreligion

The Nonreligion and Secularity Research Network (NSRN) calls for Papers for its NSRN Conference 2018 from 5 to 6 July at King's College London. The deadline for abstract submission (250 words max) is 27 October 2017.

Workshop: Religious? Secular? Re-thinking Islam and Space in Europe

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is hosting a workshop on "Religious? Secular? Re-thinking Islam and Space in Europe" from 30 November – 1 December 2017 in Cambridge. Our Senior Researcher Marian Burchardt is one of the confirmed keynote speakers.

The peer-reviewed Střed | Centre. Journal for Interdisciplinary Studies of Central Europe in the 19th and 20th Centuries calls for papers for an issue on the theme: "Beyond Secularization. Religion in Culture, Society and Politics in Central Europe during the 19th and 20th Centuries." The deadline for submissions is 31 December 2017.
