Special Issue on Right-wing Populism and Religion

Alexander Yendell (Leipzig University), Oliver Hidalgo (University of Regensburg) and Philipp W. Hildmann (Hanns-Seidel-Stiftung) edited an issue of the Zeitschrift für Religion, Gesellschaft und Politik (ZRGP, Journal for Religion, Society and Politics) focusing on right-wing populism and religion. CfA: Position at University of Göttingen

At the Institute of Sociology (Professor of Religious Studies / Social Scientific Studies of Religion, Alexander-Kenneth Nagel) of the University of Göttingen, a research position (PhD or PostDoc) is open as of 1 July 2019. The position is limited to three years and is paid according to 50% TV-L E 13. Deadline for applications is 14 April 2019.

Lecture on Churches in the Socialist Capital

On 11 April Marcus Van der Meulen (Ecclesiastical Heritage Centre / FRH [Future for Religious Heritage]) will give a lecture on “One ideology, two visions: Churches in the Socialist Capital, East Berlin and Warsaw 1945-1975”. The talk is organized by the Leibniz Institute for East European History and Culture (GWZO) and starts at 5 p.m. at Reichsstr. 4-6 (Specks Hof, Entrance A).

 

CfA: 5 Positions at the University of Münster

The Cluster of Excellence 2060 "Religion and Politics. Dynamics of Tradition and Innovation" of WWU Münster calls for applications for three postdoctoral positions (limited to four years) and two PhD positions (limited to three years) starting 1 October 2019. The applicants should preferably focus on the regions of the Atlantic or Indian Oceans. Deadline for all applications is 19 May.

 

Symposium on Japanese Religions

The AJR (Study Group of Japanese Religions), based at the University of Tübingen will hold its annual symposium on 10-11 May 2019 focusing on Religion and Politics. Admission is free, please register until the end of April (staemmler@japanologie.uni-tuebingen.de).
