Markus Dreßler on the aftermaths of the attempted coup in Turkey

The Swiss newspaper "20 min" interviewed our Senior Researcher and Turkey expert Markus Dreßler about the recent developments in the country and the region after the attempted military coup on 15 July 2016.

Dreßler gives his assessment on the public opinion regarding the coup and the role of the Gülen movement. He also talks about the further consequences of the coup for the peace process with the Kurds, the situation in Syria as well as Turkeys stance towards the Islamic State (IS).
